Covid-19 Packing List: Extra Items to bring for travel during coronavirus
This post of COVID-19 Packing List will help you pack well with all the extra items you need when traveling during Coronavirus. This will be especially useful if you’re traveling with babies, toddlers, kids or elderly. |
I had earlier put down the travel packing list, when you go globetrotting with kids. You can find that list here. In addition to that list, here is the COVID-19 packing list split into extra things needed during travel (flight, train or drives), stay (hotel, airbnb) and sightseeing (when on the road).
During Travel:
A set of 2 cloth and 3 disposable masks. If you intend to keep the mask on for longer, a cloth mask is preferable otherwise, kids and adults with sensitive skin are bound to develop rashes or in some cases even some forms of dermititis. I suggest both cloth and disposable masks so that you have options to choose depending on the length and situation of your journey. in case its a drive in a very hot weather, and you may have to step out and take pit stops, disposable masks will be preferable while in an aircraft where you have to wear it for the full length of your journey, a cloth mask might do better
Hand Sanitizer and Paper Soaps – Though you will find hand sanitizer wherever you go these days, its better to carry one with yourself especially after a check in and security checks at the airport or any contact with anything external. Paper soaps are for times when you are on a drive/ on the road and would like to get the grime and dirt off your hands before eating etc.
Disposable Hand Gloves – you can either pick up the surgical ones which you will find anywhere or pick up the plastic ones which are more commonly available these days. These will come in super handy when going for security checks.
During Stay, at the Hotel
Antibacterial Wet Wipes: In addition to the things stated above, these will be required, if you are a wee bit finicky like us. As soon as you enter the room, you could potentially wipe the surfaces you expect will be touched a lot, including the handles of your suitcases and areas where you lift them up or open them from (the zippers).
Sanitizer Spray: We have found this to be super useful when you just want to quickly disinfenct the surface. good even for cabs etc, when you don’t have an option to use public transport and don’t want to be seen wiping surfaces either.
Laundry bags: Most of the hotels also provide these but just in case they don’t just carry a few big laundry bags (plastic or cloth whatever you prefer). You don’t want to mix your travel clothes with the fresh washed ones and the laundry bags will help you keep them separate.
Sightseeing or when on the road
A hand sanitizer, paper soap, wipes will all come in handy when sightseeing. But one thing might be required depending on the weather – A moisturizer or prickly heat talc.
There have been many cases of dryness or rashes developed around the mouth area due to constant use of mask which our kids are not used to. Especially if you’re using the disposable variety, its highly likely to cause heat rashes or dryness. I highly recommend taking an opinion from a dermitologist as soon as possible in such a case.
